Grant Pound Cake
1 cup butter, salted (two sticks)
3 cups sugar
6 large eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 cup sour cream
3 cups white flour (I use pastry flour)
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
Do not preheat the oven.
Cream together: butter, sugar, eggs, & vanilla.
Add to the above mixture alternating:
sour cream, flour, baking soda & salt
Pour into well greased angel food pan (tube pan).
Bake at 300°F for about 1½ – 1¾ hours, until a thin knife or toothpick comes out clean.
